THE REDS ROOKIE SUCCESS LEAGUE
The Reds Rookie Success League (RRSL), a free, coed, character-building summer baseball program, enters its eighth summer in Cincinnati and throughout Reds Country in June.  The Reds Rookie Success League is an introductory baseball program for boys and girls ages 6-12.  It features T-ball, baseball and girls’ softball components while focusing on a character-based curriculum and the “Six Stars of Success” - Cooperation, Integrity, Respect, Education, Determination and Spirit (CI REDS).  Programs run twice a week for three hours a day for four weeks in Cincinnati, Fairfield, Mason and Dayton, and for six weeks in Louisville.  Each program features visits from Reds players and coaches, or from Dayton Dragons or Louisville Bats personnel.

The original Cincinnati league returns to Schmidt Fields, located in Cincinnati's East End neighborhood, beginning Monday, June 7.  In Fairfield, the Reds Rookie Success League of Butler County, sponsored by Bob Evans Restaurants and co-hosted by the Joe Nuxhall Character Education Fund, begins its fourth season at Waterworks Park on June 15.  The Prasco Reds Rookie Success League of Warren County kicks off its third season at the Mason Sports Park beginning June 15.  In Louisville, two programs will be featured in June and July – a daytime program at Wyandotte Park which returns for its third year and the first evening Reds Rookie Success League program which takes place at Petersburg Park at Newburg Community Center.  2010 also marks the second year of the Reds Rookie Success League of Dayton  which returns to Kettering Field on June 7.

Space is limited with each program capped at 16 teams and roughly 250 participants.  Volunteers, coaches and mentors are also needed to operate each program.  To find out how you can get involved, contact Jason Maidenberg at (513) 765-7020 or jmaidenberg@reds.com. All applications for Volunteers/Coaches and players will reopen April 5, 2010.  At that time you may select your site and complete the online application.  Thank you.
