Field Renovation

Field renovation has been an integral part of the outreach mission since the inception of the Reds Community Fund.  To date, fields have been renovated, signs have been installed and red benches are in place in 64 locations.  More than 70 fields will be renovated in 2008 in markets throughout Reds Country including Cincinnati, Louisville, Middletown, Warsaw, Bellevue, Lexington, Columbus, Indianapolis, Batesville, Huntington and Hamilton.

This comprehensive effort to improve the conditions of inner-city baseball fields in Greater Cincinnati and throughout Reds Country has become one of the defining features of the Community Fund.

Leveraging the resources and services of local government and recreation departments, the initiative has become a collaborative success, making baseball more accessible to coaches, parents and thousands of children.

Why Renovate Inner-City Baseball Fields?
  • Improves safety of playing conditions
  • Improves accessibility of baseball
  • Provides positive recreational outlet
  • Improves overall neighborhood experience
